Instead of a full shade range, it offers ten pure bases (1N, 1BB, 2G, 3RV, 4BV, 4G, 6RG, 8G, 10BG and 12V) that are intermixed to build the target shade, along with 00 Clear, a LIFT gel for ultra light blondes, and Red and Violet intensifiers. It mixes one to one with PURE OXI creme developer: PURE OXI Demi for deposit-only work, or 10 to 40 vol for permanent results. Base names describe both the base tone and the shade, so 4BV is a blue violet base light cool brown.
