Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Formula Finder mobile app and website (together, the "Service"), operated by Formula Finder Pro LLC ("Formula Finder," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who can use Formula Finder

The Service is built for licensed hair professionals and for cosmetology students. You must be at least 16 years old to use it. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has agreed to these Terms on your behalf. You are responsible for keeping your account login secure and for all activity on your account.

2. Professional use

Formula Finder is a tool for licensed hair professionals and for cosmetology students working under a licensed educator. Formulas, consultation notes and all other content in the app are guidance built from the photos and details you provide, and are not a guarantee of any result. You are responsible for every service you perform, including assessing your client's hair and scalp, following the manufacturer's directions for every product, and using your professional judgment. You confirm this when you first use the app.

3. Subscriptions and billing

Formula Finder is a paid subscription. Subscriptions are purchased and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and those stores' terms also apply to your purchase. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. We may change subscription prices with advance notice as required by the app stores, and any change applies from your next billing period.

4. Your content and client photos

You may upload photos, notes and formulas to the Service ("Your Content"). You keep ownership of Your Content. You give us permission to store, process and display Your Content only as needed to run and improve the Service for you. Before you upload a photo of a client, you are responsible for having that client's permission. Do not upload content you do not have the right to share.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by copying, reselling or redistributing its content or formulas in bulk, reverse engineering the app, interfering with its security or operation, using it to break any law, or uploading content that is unlawful, harmful or infringes someone else's rights.

Each account is for one person. Don't share your login or let anyone else use your account, including other stylists at your salon. Don't use bots, scripts or other automated tools to access the Service or create formulas. We may limit how many devices can be signed in to one account at the same time.

6. Brands and shade information

Brand names, product line names and shade codes shown in the Service belong to their respective owners. Formula Finder is not affiliated with or endorsed by any brand shown. Shade and product information is gathered from publicly available manufacturer materials and may change without notice. Always check the manufacturer's current directions.

7. Our content

The Service, including its software, design, text and features, belongs to Formula Finder and is protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own professional work while your account is active.

8. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Formula Finder and its owners are not liable for any damage to hair, scalp, skin or property, or for any other loss, arising from a service performed using the app or its content. The professional performing the service is solely responsible for that service and its outcome. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Ending your account

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the app. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms. Sections 4 through 9 and 11 continue to apply after your account ends.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Rhode Island, without regard to its conflict of law rules.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
