Redken Color Charts
Redken is a professional haircare and haircolor brand owned by L'Oréal and based in New York City. Its salon color portfolio covers every service type: Shades EQ, the acidic demi-permanent gloss; Shades ALK, an ammonia-free alkaline demi; Color Gels Lacquers and Color Gels Oils, two liquid permanent lines; and Color Fusion and Cover Fusion, its permanent color creams. Blonde Idol and Blonde IQ lighteners and Pro-Oxide developers complete the system. Shade codes pair a level number with tone letters, so 09V reads as a level 9 violet. Shades EQ prints its levels with a leading zero (07N, 09V), while Shades ALK, Color Gels and Color Fusion drop it (7N, 10NA, 9Ag). Many Redken charts also sort shades by background: black to gray for a cool foundation, brown to tan for balanced natural results, or no background for pure reflect. Redken calls Shades EQ the number one liquid acidic demi-permanent haircolor, and it is the line most stylists know the brand for.
