Matrix Color Charts
Matrix is an American professional haircare and haircolor brand, founded in 1980 and now owned by L'Oréal. Its color system rests on three pre-bonded lines that mix with Matrix Cream Developer: SoColor, the permanent cream color; Super Sync, the alkaline demi-permanent that replaced SoColor Sync; and Tonal Control, the acidic gel-cream toner. BlondeMax 9+ Lightener rounds out the range. 'Pre-bonded' means a bond-protecting concentrate is already in the formula, so no separate bonder is mixed in. Shade codes pair the level with tone letters, as in 8CG Copper Gold or 6NN, and SoColor shades are filed into collections such as Blended, Reflect and Extra Coverage, where Extra Coverage codes carry a 500-series number like 506NA. Matrix builds SoColor and its demi lines as a matched pair, with SoColor for the root and the demi for mids and ends, and stylists know the brand for that root-to-ends system and its wide shade range.
