View the official Tone & Gloss chartCHI Tone & Gloss is an ammonia-free demi-permanent cream toner made for pre-lightened hair. It is used to neutralize unwanted undertones, add tone and boost shine. Every shade mixes 1:1 with CHI Developer 5 vol, never a higher volume, and processes 20 minutes at room temperature. Instead of numbers, the shades have names such as Latte, Ice and Macchiato, grouped into five families: Warm, Natural Mist, Cool, Sand and Rose. The chart also marks each shade with level 8, 9 or 10, the level of pre-lightened hair it is designed to tone.
